Jill B. Loope

Assistant Director of Economic Development

Jill Loope joined the Roanoke County development team in September of 2000. Her primary responsibility is to coordinate the marketing efforts of the department, in addition to prospect and product development, proposal preparation and business recruitment strategies.

Ms. Loope was most recently employed as the Director of Economic Development for Caroline County, Virginia, where she led the County's marketing, business recruitment, product development, and tourism development programs. In this capacity, she managed the recruitment of 5 new companies producing in excess of $31 million in investment and 300 new jobs, and was responsible for securing over $500,000 in state and federal grant funding for County projects.

Having over 10 years of public service, she has also served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Radford, where she participated in the retention, recruitment and expansion of 10 companies, producing in excess of $30 million in new investment and 500 jobs. While there, she secured in excess of $200,000 in grant funding for City projects, served as Secretary of the New Century Council, and served as a member of the Virginia Tech Economic Development Advisory Board. She was also a former member of Governor George Allen's Regional Economic Development Advisory Council, and a former member of Congressman Rick Boucher's Commission on the Future of Southwest Virginia.

Ms. Loope is a graduate of Radford University with a B.S. in Journalism/Public Relations. She is also a graduate of the nationally recognized Economic Development Institute and has been an active participant with the Governor's international trade missions in the Southeast United States Japan and Korea Societies.
